Novena to Saint Joseph

The practice of the novena of prayers is a very ancient piety in the Church. It consists of praying for one or more intentions assiduously and fervently for nine days. This practice of piety is inspired by the nine days of prayer of the apostles in the Upper Room between the Ascension and Pentecost (cf. Acts 1:14).
The effectiveness of a novena is not magic. Rather, it is the result of the faithful commitment of the faith of the one who is being prayed to.
